Edo Muslim Pilgrims Board Chairman, Buries Mother at 99, Seeks Prayers for Departed Muslims

The Chairman of the Edo State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Mallam Musa Muhammad Uduimoh, has buried his mother, Hajia Hafsat Muhammad Lawan, who passed away yesterday March 13, 2026 at the age of 99, while seeking prayers for departed Muslims.


Speaking with SPARKNEWSLINE9JA via a WhatsApp call from Saudi Arabia, where he is currently performing Umrah, Chairman Uduimoh expressed gratitude to Allah for the long life granted to his late mother and for the blessing that her passing occurred during the holy month of Ramadan.


He noted that Ramadan is a sacred and spiritually significant period for Muslims and expressed hope that Allah would grant her forgiveness and eternal rest.


He also prayed for all departed Muslims, asking Allah to have mercy on their souls, forgive their shortcomings, and grant them Aljannah Firdaus.


He said, "My mother died at 99. Alhamdulillah for her life. She passed away during Ramadan and the last 10-days of Ramadan. That alone is a sign that she will be forgiven by Allah inshaallah. I pray Allah to grant her as well as other Muslims who have passed away internal rest"


The late Hajia Hafsat Muhammad Lawan, who died at the age of 99, was laid to rest today Friday of March 13, 2026 in accordance with Islamic rites, as family members, friends, and sympathizers continue to extend condolences to the chairman and his family over the loss.
