Signs of Lailatul Qadri

The  Signs of Lailatul Qadri as described by prophet Muhammad (SAW) are as in the following Hadith.


Allah's Messenger said as narrated in Hadith number 762 in Sahih Muslim, "Its sign (i.e Lailatul Qadr) is that in the following morning the sun rises white without rays"


Also, according to the Hadith of Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him), as narrated in Hadith number 1170, Sahih Muslim, he said, we were discussing Lailatul Qadr and Allah's Messenger (SAW) said: who among you remembers the night when the moon appeared like half a pot?


In view of the above evidences, it is important to clarify that some stories we hear about visions of trees or housing prostrating are fabricated stories, according to scholars.


It is however true that some companions of the prophet were shown in dreams the occurrence of Lailatul Qadr in the last seven days of Ramadan. Allah's Messenger then said, "I see that your dreams are all within the last seven days; so whoever seeks Lailatul Qadr should seek it in the last seven days". Evidence is in Hadith number 1165, Sahih Muslim.


This Hadith clearly shows that the companions were shown in dreams the nights which Lailatul Qadr may occur but not that they saw it or  dreamt of extraordinary happenings. May Allah guide us.
