Edo SSG Calls for Prayers, Support for Okpebholo's Administration

The Secretary to the Edo State Government (SSG), Musa Umar Ikhilor Esq., has urged Muslims in the state to continue offering prayers and support for Governor Monday Okpebholo's administration, assuring them of inclusivity and recognition in governance.

Ikhilor made the appeal during the opening ceremony of the ongoing Islamic Vacation Course (IVC) organized by the Muslim Students' Society of Nigeria (MSSN) Edo Delta Area Unit in Auchi Polytechnic, Auchi in Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State.

Represented by the General Coordinator, Edo Muslims for Equity and Good Governance (EMEGG), Sheikh Sirajudeen Muhammad, Ikhilor commended the Governor Okpebholo's commitment to inclusive leadership adding that the efforts of the administration in infrastructure and other critical areas of governance within the first one month in office calls for prayers and support to enable successful achievements.

Highlighting recent appointments, Ikhilor noted, “For the first time in the history of Edo State, Muslims have been appointed to key positions like Secretary to the State Government and Chief of Staff. This is a government that recognizes effort and rewards it accordingly. I urge everyone to remain patient and steadfast. Support this administration with your prayers, as it is committed to ensuring that Muslims are not sidelined.”

In a related development, the Oghieaga of Ibvie, HRH Mallam Ali Sulayman,  also called on the Muslim communities in Edo state to pray for the steadfastness and success of Muslim leaders in the state. He emphasized the importance of their continued contribution to governance and the advancement of the Islamic faith.

The event which is currently hosting over 3,400 participants was attended by the who-is-who in the Islamic community including traditional rulers, political leaders, Imams among others.

The programme  served as a rallying point for the Muslim communities to renew their support for one another while reaffirming their commitment to the progress and unity of the Islamic religion.
