The Edo State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced January 31, 2024, as the deadline for intending pilgrims to complete their registration and payment for the 2025 Hajj.
According to a statement by the Board’s newly appointed Executive Secretary, Eranga Abdulkabir Muhammadkabir, intending pilgrims are required to pay a deposit of N8.4 million to secure their slots. The Board emphasized that this early payment would streamline preparations and ensure a smooth Hajj experience for all participants.
The statement also disclosed that the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has approved a refund of SR 64,200 (approximately N26,142,240) to 428 Edo State pilgrims for services not rendered during the 2023 Hajj. Pilgrims who participated in the 2023 Hajj are advised to submit their account details to the Board’s accountant or ICT officer to process the refunds.
The Executive Secretary reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to transparent and efficient Hajj operations, urging prospective pilgrims to take advantage of the registration window to fulfill this essential pillar of Islam.
“Early registration will help us deliver a seamless Hajj experience for our pilgrims. We encourage all intending pilgrims to comply with the deadline to avoid missing out,” Muhammadkabir said.
Preparations for the 2025 Hajj are already in full swing, with the Board assuring pilgrims of improved services and better coordination for the upcoming pilgrimage.
