Uzairue Mourns the Loss of a Philanthropic Icon

By Abdul-Kadir Abdullah

Uzairue kingdom in Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State is mourning the loss of a great man, Chief Alhaji Engr. Ahmed Dangana, popularly called Dagmed.

Until his death, he was a grand patron of the United Muslim Youth Association of Nigeria (UMYAN). Known for his philanthropic spirit, Dangana left an indelible mark on the community, particularly in the realm of Islamic religion.

A pillar of support for UMYAN, Dangana's generosity extended beyond financial contributions. In the year 2000, he single-handedly donated the association's first vehicle, a testament to his commitment to empowering the youth.

Dangana's legacy extends far beyond his material contributions. He was a beacon of hope, inspiring countless individuals to strive for excellence. Aside financial support, he was always physically involved in the activities of Islam. He was a major sponsor of  orphans in the Muslim community. He also encouraged his children doing same. One of his son's, who has passed away before now, Remi Dangana was a good example of his father. Like his father, Remi also had several orphans in his scholarship till he passed away.

The passing of Dagmed is a significant loss for the Uzairue kingdom and the entire Muslim community.

He has been buried according to Islamic rites in Sunday, December 15, 2024.

May Allah grant his soul,  the soul of Remi Dangana and all other Muslims who have passed away resting places in Paradise.
