By Abdul-Kadir Abdullah

Edo State pilgrims participating in the 2026 Hajj exercise have begun preparations for their return journey to Nigeria, as the Edo State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has commenced the distribution of luggage bags to facilitate smooth travel arrangements.

The Executive Secretary of the board, Alh. Eranga Abdulkabir Muhammadkabir led the exercise on Sunday, urging Pilgrims to strictly comply with the two 23-kilogram baggage allowance stipulated by airlines.

He explained that adherence to the weight directive was necessary to avoid delays, penalties, or complications during airport check-in procedures in Saudi Arabia.

According to him, the distribution of luggage bags is part of the board’s efforts to ensure an orderly and stress-free return process for all pilgrims after the completion of the spiritual exercise.

He also advised the pilgrims to properly label their luggage and ensure that valuable items and essential documents are kept in their hand luggage for easy access during transit.

Some of the pilgrims expressed appreciation for the board’s support, noting that the provision of luggage bags would help them organize their belongings more efficiently ahead of departure.

The board further reiterated its commitment to ensuring the safe return of all Edo pilgrims to Nigeria in line with established Hajj operational guidelines.
