Edo State has reaffirmed its position as an emerging hub for investment and commerce, as it took centre stage at the 37th Enugu International Trade Fair, themed: "Empowering MSMEs for Global Competitiveness", showcasing its rich cultural heritage and locally made products at the state’s trade fair complex.
Speaking at the event, the Commissioner, Ministry of Business, Trade and Investment, Hon. Omoh Anabor, described the trade fair as a strategic platform to promote Edo State’s economic potential and attract investors.
According to him, Edo’s presence at the fair reflects the government’s deliberate effort to highlight its export-ready products and create new economic partnerships.
He said, “The 2026 Enugu International Trade Fair is very important to the people of Edo State. That is why we are present here with our cultural heritage and Made-in-Edo goods currently on display. Beyond that, we are here to woo investors with what we have as exportable products.”
The Commissioner further emphasized the impact of Governor Monday Okpebholo’s SHINE agenda, noting that the administration has made significant strides in empowering small businesses and improving infrastructure across the eighteen Local Government Areas in the State.
He added that the business environment in Edo has become increasingly viable, with ongoing improvements in security and deliberate policies aimed at fostering enterprise growth.
He added, “We are inviting investors to take advantage of the improving business climate and participate in the forthcoming Edo Trade Fair to be held later this year,”
Also speaking, the Managing Director, Edo State Investment Promotion Office (ESIPO), Mr. Amen Odigie, reiterated the State Government’s commitment to ease of doing business and investor support.

Mr. Odigie said, “My message to would-be investors is that Edo is open for business. The security situation has improved and the environment is enabling. We are here to tell investors that we are ready for you,”
He explained that under the directive of Governor Okpebholo, the Edo investment team has been mandated to actively promote the State across the country, showcasing its opportunities and engaging directly with potential investors.
He added, "As we are here at the Enugu Trade Fair, we will continue to move across the country to let people see what we are doing. We will come to you so that you can come to us,”
The Edo State exhibition stand attracted significant attention, with six exhibitors sponsored by the State Government participating in the fair. Among them were Amineru Foods, Arose Cultural Hub Ltd, Genius Hub, Afrohype Artistry Ltd, Pekosa Foods and Rotzy Foods displaying a range of Made-in-Edo products and services.
