NACOMYO Felicitates Muslims on Arrival of Ramadan, Urges Unity, Spiritual Renewal

By Abdul-Kadir Abdullah

The National Council of Muslim Youth Organizations (NACOMYO), Edo State Chapter, has congratulated Muslims across the state and beyond on the commencement of Ramadan 1447AH (2026), describing the holy month as a period of deep spiritual reflection, prayer, and renewed commitment to righteousness.

In a goodwill message signed by the Edo State Chapter, the Council extended warm greetings to the Muslim Ummah and called on the faithful to embrace the sacred season with devotion and sincerity.

Quoting the Qur’an (2:183), NACOMYO reminded believers that fasting is prescribed to help them attain taqwa (piety), urging Muslims to approach the month with faith, discipline, and a heart inclined toward Allah.

The State Chapter prayed for Allah’s guidance, good health, and safety for all Muslims to successfully observe the fast from beginning to end.

It also referenced a Hadith of the Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W), which states that whoever fasts Ramadan with faith and seeking reward will have their previous sins forgiven, encouraging members of the Ummah to maximize the spiritual benefits of the season.

NACOMYO further called on Muslims to use the opportunity to seek forgiveness, increase acts of charity, and strengthen unity within the community.

Citing Qur’an 11:114, the council emphasized that good deeds wipe away misdeeds and urged believers to remain steadfast in prayer and righteous conduct before, during, and after Ramadan.

The State Council expressed hope that the holy month would bring Muslims closer to Allah, foster unity, and rejuvenate their spirits.

It concluded by praying that all fasts, prayers, and good deeds offered during the period would be accepted, wishing the Muslim faithful a blessed and rewarding Ramadan.

“ *Ramadan Mubarak,”* the statement added.
