Can One Continue Eating After the Fair Adhan?


Assuming a person while taking his sahur, hears a call to prayer, what is the ruling?


In a situation like this, the person should finish his meal.


Evidence is in an authentic Hadith narrated by Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said, the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, "If one of you hears the Adhan with a bowl of food in his hand, he should not put it down until he is satisfied. (Sahih Abu Dawud 2060)


But in doing this, we must be careful not to make it an everyday habit.
