The Edo State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has commenced the data capturing exercise for all intending pilgrims for the 2026 Hajj, with a clear directive that the process will close on or before 8th February, 2026.
In a statement issued on 15th January, 2026, the Executive Secretary of the Board, Eranga Abdulkabir Muhammadkabir, urged all intending pilgrims to submit their international passports without delay to enable timely visa processing in line with the guidelines of the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.
According to the Board, the ongoing data capturing exercise is a mandatory requirement for participation in the 2026 Hajj, and failure to complete the process within the stipulated timeline may adversely affect an intending pilgrim’s chances of taking part in the pilgrimage.
The Board emphasized that early compliance will ensure a smooth and hitch-free documentation process, adding that all intending pilgrims are strongly advised to take advantage of the ongoing exercise and avoid last-minute challenges.
The Edo State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board reassured pilgrims of its commitment to a well-organised Hajj operation and encouraged them to cooperate fully with officials handling the exercise.
For further inquiries, intending pilgrims have been advised to contact the Board through its official lines or visit the office.
