The Edo State Government has announced the reconstitution of the Edo State Judicial Service Commission, following the approval of His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo, Governor of Edo State.
According to a government statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, Esq., the newly reconstituted Commission will be chaired by the Chief Judge of Edo State, in line with statutory provisions.
Other members of the Commission include the Honorable Attorney General of Edo State; Fred Oamen Idiake, Esq.; Razak Osayiande Isenalumhe, Esq.; Eweka Imagbovomwan Esther; and Shuaibu Elamah, Esq.
Ikhilor noted that the names of the non-statutory members will be forwarded to the Edo State House of Assembly for consideration and confirmation, as required by law.
The reconstitution of the Judicial Service Commission is expected to strengthen the administration of justice in the state by ensuring transparency, efficiency, and adherence to due process in judicial appointments and disciplinary matters.
The Edo State Judicial Service Commission plays a key role in the state’s judicial system, overseeing the recruitment, promotion, and discipline of judicial officers and staff of the state judiciary.
