Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has approved the nomination of four new Commissioner-Designates for the state.
A statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, Esq., on Friday, listed the nominees as Ohimai Ehijimetor, Eugenia Abdallah, Hon. Godwin Afekokhe Eshieshi, and Prince Kassim Afegbua.
Their names have been forwarded to the Edo State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.
According to the statement, Ohimai Ehijimetor, a graduate of Civil Engineering from the University of Benin, brings over 14 years of experience in project management, team leadership, and business development. He is currently the Managing Director of Jackhammar Services Limited.
Eugenia Abdallah, with qualifications in Humanities and Administration, has over a decade of experience in the banking industry and is described as a creative, self-directed executive and an excellent team player.
Hon. Godwin Afekokhe Eshieshi, an experienced politician, businessman, and community leader, holds degrees in Government and Public Administration as well as International Relations. His political career includes serving as a Member of the Edo State House of Assembly (1992–1993) and as Chairman of Etsako East Local Government Council (1999–2002).
Prince Kassim Afegbua, a seasoned journalist and public affairs commentator, is a graduate in English and Literary Studies with further training in media relations and political communication. He previously served as Edo State Commissioner for Information and Orientation and as Special Adviser on Media to a former Governor.
In the same announcement, Governor Okpebholo also approved the appointment of Aigbogun Collins, the immediate past Chairman of Esan West Local Government Council, as Special Adviser on Youth Mobilisation.
Additionally, Osobase Oboaguina was named Senior Special Assistant on Youth Mobilisation, Edo Central.
The governor expressed confidence that the nominees and appointees would bring their wealth of experience and dedication to advancing the administration’s vision for the state.
