Join the Ramadan Community! The Time for Breaking the Fast

Day (17)

By Sparknewsline9jaltd

In a Hadith narrated by Abdullah Ibn Abu Awfah (may Allah be pleased with him), he said: " We were traveling with Allah's Messenger (SAW), who was fasting. (When the sun sets), he said to someone 'alight and mix for me' (meaning a drink made by mixing flour with water).

The man replied 'O Messenger of Allah, the sun!' (meaning it is still bright daylight). Allah's Messenger replied 'alight and mix for me'. The man again said 'O Messenger of Allah the sun!'. Allah's Messenger again said 'alight and mix for me'. The man then alighted, mixed for him, he drank and then said "when you see the night coming from there(meaning sunset) then anyone fasting has broken fast (whether he takes anything or not)

(Sahih Bukhari 1941, 1958)
