Edo Steps Up Efforts for 2025 Hajj, Holds Sensitization Outreach at Irrua

Edo State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has stepped up efforts for the 2025 Hajj with a crucial Hajj Sensitization Outreach programme for intending pilgrims, alongside esteemed Imaams and members of the Muslim community at the Ujabhole Central Mosque in Uwessan, Irrua, Edo Central part of the state.

The event which held on Thursday, January 30, 2025, aimed to prepare intending pilgrims for a smooth and successful experience during the 2025 Hajj.

The Chairman of the Board, Mallam Musah Muhammad Uduimoh, and the Executive Secretary, Alhaji Eranga Muhammadkabir Abdulkabir both stressed the importance of adhering to the payment deadlines set by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) which is January 7, 2025 to avoid last minute rush.

Mallam Uduimoh highlighted Edo State's prominent role in Hajj activities within the South-South region of Nigeria. 

According to him, "Edo State is known for its leading position in the South-South as it relates to Hajj matters. We need to not only maintain that position but to also do better, especially in this era of Governor Monday Okpebholo's administration. So, for those who have intention to perform Hajj this year, I encourage you all to make your payment timely" 

He further highlighted the spiritual significance of the pilgrimage, noting that it is one way that offers us the opportunity to pray for the state while in the Holy land. 

"Through this journey to the holy land, we usually have the opportunity to pray for our state, for our government, and seek every good thing that we desire as a people," he added.

The sensitization programme, attended by a cross-section of the Muslim community including prominent Imaams, covered various essential aspects of the Hajj exercise, equipping intending pilgrims with the necessary knowledge and guidance for a fulfilling spiritual journey. 

The Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board expressed their appreciation for the attendees and reiterated their commitment to supporting the pilgrims throughout the Hajj process.
