In a move aimed at improving the welfare of Edo State workers and attracting top talent, Governor Monday Okpebholo has announced the approval of a “13th month” salary and automatic employment for First Class graduates from the state.

The “13th month” salary, an additional month's pay, will be a significant boost to the financial well-being of state employees. This generous gesture is seen as a reward for their hard work and dedication to public service.

Additionally, the Governor's approval of automatic employment for First Class graduates is a strategic move to enhance the quality of the state's workforce. This initiative, known as the Graduate Development Programme (GDP), will attract highly qualified individuals to the state's civil service.

Head of Service, Dr. Anthony Okungbowa, expressed enthusiasm about the program, stating that it will not only attract top talent but also ensure their retention through a comprehensive development plan. Graduates will be rotated through various government agencies and even private sector organizations to gain diverse experiences and skills.

Governor Okpebholo's commitment to improving the lives of Edo State citizens is evident in these initiatives.

By recognizing the contributions of state workers and investing in the future generation of leaders, the Governor aims to position Edo State as a leading state in Nigeria.
