Edo EIRS Extends Deadline for 2026 Tax Returns to April 30

By Courage Eboigbe

The Edo State Internal Revenue Service (EIRS) has announced a one-month extension for the filing of Individual Annual Tax Returns (Tax Form A) and PAYE Tax Returns (Tax Form H3), shifting the deadline from March 31 to April 30, 2026.

The extension covers a wide range of taxpayers, including individuals, business owners, professionals, freelancers, content creators, entertainers, artisans, consultants, tradesmen and women, employees, as well as all employers of labour across the state.

Speaking on the development, the Executive Chairman of EIRS, Mr. John Osirenimhe Odior (FCA, ACTI), explained that the decision was driven by the agency’s commitment to supporting taxpayers and ensuring administrative efficiency.

According to him, the additional time will enable taxpayers to properly gather relevant documentation, promote wider compliance among individuals and businesses, ensure accurate financial reporting, and create room for intensified taxpayer sensitization and education across Edo State.

He urged all eligible taxpayers to take advantage of the extension and avoid last-minute rush by utilizing the Service’s digital platforms.

Individual taxpayers are to file their returns (Form A) via the official EIRS digital website, www.eirs.gov.ng while employers of labour can submit PAYE returns (Form H3) through the designated portal, paye.eirs.gov.ng or at the nearest EIRS branch office.

The Service reiterated its commitment to improving tax administration and fostering a culture of voluntary compliance among residents of the state.
