The Edo State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced the commencement of the distribution of uniforms, travel bags, and vaccination for all intending pilgrims ahead of the 2026 Hajj exercise.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Executive Secretary of the Board, Alhaji Eranga Abdulkabir Muhammadkabir, said the exercise, which is mandatory for all intending pilgrims, will be conducted across designated centres in the state.
According to the schedule released by the Board, intending pilgrims from Edo South are to attend the exercise on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at the Hajj Board office located at 2/3 Ugomosun Street, off Dumez Road in Benin City, starting from 9:00 a.m.
For those in Edo Central and Edo North, the exercise will take place on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at the Irrua Central Mosque, opposite the palace, and Arafat Mosque in Auchi, also beginning at 9:00 a.m.
The statement noted that screening, orientation, and vaccination will be carried out by the 2026 Hajj medical team in collaboration with officials of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria and the state government.
Muhammadkabir emphasized that attendance is compulsory for all intending pilgrims, urging them to comply fully with the schedule to ensure a smooth and successful Hajj operation.
