The Edo State Muslim Pilgrim Welfare Board has urged all intending pilgrims from the state to begin early preparations for the 2026 Hajj exercise, noting that the holy month of Ramadan is expected to fall in February 2026, thereby placing the Hajj operations timeline much earlier than usual.

The Chairman of the Board, Mallam Musa Muhammad Uduimoh made this call in a statement issued in Benin City, advising prospective pilgrims to take advantage of the early notice to complete all necessary documentation, including international passports, medical requirements, and registration formalities, to avoid last-minute challenges.

According to him, early preparation will also enable intending pilgrims to adequately prepare spiritually, physically, and financially for the sacred journey, while allowing the Board to plan effectively for logistics, welfare arrangements, and coordination with relevant authorities.

He further disclosed that the Board will, in the coming weeks, roll out orientation exercises. Intending pilgrims were therefore encouraged to remain attentive to official announcements and information disseminated through the Board’s recognised channels.

The Chairman reaffirmed the commitment of the Edo State Muslim Pilgrim Welfare Board to ensuring a smooth, well-coordinated, and spiritually fulfilling Hajj experience for all pilgrims from the state and called for the full cooperation of the public with all laid-down procedures.
