Gov Okpebholo Shakes Up Edo Cabinet in Fresh Reshuffle, Changes Chief of Staff, Others

The Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has approved a minor reshuffle in the State Executive Council as part of efforts to strengthen governance, enhance service delivery and promote greater efficiency in the administration of state affairs.


The announcement, contained in a statement dated January 29, 2026, and signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, said the changes include the redeployment of Hon. (Barr.) Vincent Osas Uwadiae from the Ministry of Oil and Gas Resources to the Ministry of Lands and Housing as Commissioner.


The statement also announced the appointment of Hon. Yakubu Oshiorenua Musa, JP, formerly Commissioner for Lands and Housing, as the new Chief of Staff to the Governor.


In addition, Hon. Gani Audu, who previously served as Chief of Staff, has been nominated to resume as Commissioner for Oil and Gas Resources, subject to confirmation by the Edo State House of Assembly.


The government noted that the reshuffle will take effect from January 30, 2026, expressing confidence that the strategic adjustments will further enhance coordination, policy implementation and effective governance in Edo State.
