Gov Okpebholo Makes Fresh Appointments in Edo Govt

The Governor of Edo State, His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has approved the appointment of several new aides and officials into key positions in the state government, as part of efforts to strengthen governance and enhance service delivery.

In a statement issued on Monday, October 27, 2025, and signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, Esq., the newly appointed officials are to assume their respective offices with immediate effect.

According to the announcement, Hon. Orobosa Omo-Ojo JP has been appointed as the General Manager, Bendel Newspaper Corporation, while Hon. John Osagie Inegbedion will serve as Special Adviser to the Governor on Tax Reforms.

Others include Johnson Jibril Adamu as Special Adviser on Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation; Shuaibu Elamah as Special Adviser on Law Reforms; and Dr. Aminu Ibrahim Imafidor as Special Adviser on Livestock, Aquaculture and Agro-Processing.

In further demonstrating his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance and women participation, Governor Okpebholo also appointed four Special Advisers on Women Mobilization across the three senatorial districts of the state. 

They are Omorede O. E. Osifo (State level), Esther O. Eghaghe (Edo Central), Vera Omonkhafe Sadoh (Edo North), and Mrs. Itohan Osahon (Edo South).

Also appointed is Anslem Adima as Special Adviser on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.

The statement noted that the appointments take effect from October 27, 2025, and form part of the Governor’s ongoing efforts to reposition the state’s public service for greater efficiency and development.

Governor Okpebholo, who recently reiterated his administration’s commitment to good governance and people-centered policies, is expected to swear in the new appointees in the coming days.
