Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State has approved the nomination of three individuals as Commissioner-Designates to strengthen the Edo State executive council for effective governance.

The nominations were officially announced on Thursday in a government special announcement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, Esq.

The Commissioner-Designates are, Dr. Elizabeth Ebosele, Hon. Christopher Ewere Okaeben and Hon. Festus Odianosen Ebea, JP

Dr. Elizabeth Ebosele, a seasoned development economist and policy expert, brings extensive experience in budgeting, planning, and inclusive governance. A graduate of the University of Benin, Dr. Ebosele previously served as a Technical Adviser on Budget and National Planning at the federal level and was a key member of the Technical Working Group for the Medium-Term National Development Plan (2021–2025). Her expertise spans across project financing, renewable energy, and ICT for development.

Hon. Christopher Ewere Okaeben, a former member of the Edo State House of Assembly representing Oredo West Constituency from 2015 to 2023, is also among the nominees. With academic credentials in Banking and Finance from the University of Benin, Hon. Okaeben has held several strategic public service roles, including Commissioner for Youth & Sports and Executive Director of the Edo State Petroleum Monitoring Committee. He is known for his legislative work, particularly in health, women’s affairs, and infrastructure.

Rt. Hon. Festus Odianosen Ebea, JP, a former Deputy Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, completes the list of nominees. Representing Esan South East Constituency during his legislative tenure, Hon. Ebea is widely respected for his grassroots mobilization efforts and contributions to legislative reforms. He holds the traditional title of Obarisiagbon of Ubiaja and has been a strong voice for youth empowerment and democratic governance in Edo politics.

The nominations are expected to be forwarded to the Edo State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation in the coming days.

The nominations reflect Governor Okpebholo’s commitment to inclusive governance and leveraging experienced professionals in key roles to drive his administration's development agenda.
