AAT University: Emir of Ilorin Urges University Authorities to Prioritize Innovation, Proactiveness, Consistency

The Emir of Ilorin and Chairman of the Kwara State Council of Chiefs, Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, has expressed optimism that AbdulRasaq Abubakar Toyin University (AAT University) is on a path to attaining global recognition, citing the institution’s world-class facilities and high-calibre personnel.

Receiving the Founder and Chancellor of the newly established university, Alhaji AbdulRasaq Abubakar Toyin, at his palace in Ilorin, the revered monarch commended the initiative and urged the university’s leadership to remain focused, innovative, proactive, and consistent in their mission of building a reputable private, not-for-profit institution committed to producing global citizens.

Alhaji Sulu-Gambari described education as a powerful tool for eradicating poverty and addressing security challenges. 

He lauded the foresight of the university's founder for establishing such a monumental institution in his ancestral hometown, noting that it would enhance access to quality higher education for indigent students within the Ilorin Emirate and beyond.

The Emir further acknowledged the significant contributions of Alhaji AbdulRasaq Abubakar Toyin to the socio-economic development of the Ilorin Emirate, urging other well-meaning individuals from the region to invest in initiatives that will uplift their communities and promote sustainable development across Kwara State.

Earlier, Alhaji AbdulRasaq Abubakar Toyin, who was accompanied by the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, Professor Abdul-Rasheed Na’Allah, and the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor AbdulRauf Ambali, stated that the visit was to seek royal blessings and wise counsel as the university prepares to commence its inaugural academic session.

He assured the Emir that all advice given would be dutifully implemented to ensure the rapid realization of the university’s vision of academic excellence and societal impact.
