The Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has forwarded the names of five commissioner-designates to the Edo State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.

In a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, Esq., the nominees include: Hon. (Barr.) Vincent Osas Uwadiae, Hon. Etin-osa Ogbeiwi, Hon. Saturday Uwuilekhue Idehen (JP), Hon. Charity Amayaenvbo, and Professor Roland Itoyah Otaru, SAN.

Hon. (Barr.) Vincent Osas Uwadiae, a distinguished lawyer and member of the International Bar Association, is a graduate of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, with an MBA and past chairman of the Edo State Oil and Gas Producing Areas Development Commission.

Hon. Etin-osa Ogbeiwi, a former member of the Edo State House of Assembly, studied Philosophy and Religion at Edo State University and has undergone international training in project monitoring, evaluation, and governance.

Hon. Saturday Uwuilekhue Idehen (JP), an alumnus of the University of Benin with a degree in International Studies and Diplomacy, previously served as a state commissioner and chairman of Orhionmwon Local Government.

Hon. Charity Amayaenvbo, a political scientist and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria, holds both a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Public Administration and an MBA from the University of Benin. He has wide-ranging experience in public and private service.

Professor Roland Itoyah Otaru, SAN, a legal luminary and academic, earned his law degree from the University of Benin, his master’s from the University of Ife, and his Ph.D. from Babcock University. A Senior Advocate of Nigeria, he is also an Honorary Member of the Body of Benchers.

The statement noted that the nominations have been sent to the Edo State House of Assembly for legislative consideration and confirmation.
