Edo NUJ Mourns Passing of Veteran Journalist Gabriel Enologhase

The Edo State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) is in mourning following the death of one of its esteemed members, Mr. Gabriel Enologhase, a dedicated journalist with Vanguard Newspapers.

Enologhase, who was a member of the Correspondents’ Chapel, passed away on the night of Sunday, June 22, 2025, after a brief illness.

In a press statement released on June 23, 2025, the NUJ Edo State Council expressed profound sorrow over the loss. 

The statement, signed by Comrade Festus Alenkhe, Chairman, and Andy Egbon, Secretary, highlighted Enologhase's significant contributions to the journalism profession.

"Until his death on the night of Sunday, June 22, 2025, Mr. Enologhase was a dedicated journalist with Vanguard Newspapers, known for his professionalism, integrity, and commitment to the ethics of the journalism profession," the statement read.

The council extended its heartfelt condolences to Enologhase's immediate family, friends, colleagues, and the entire media community. He will be remembered for his impactful contributions to journalism in Edo State and beyond.

The NUJ announced that details regarding funeral arrangements will be communicated in due course. The statement concluded with a prayer for the repose of his soul: "May his soul rest in perfect peace."
