Edo State Muslim pilgrims currently undertaking the Hajj pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia engaged in significant spiritual visitations (Ziyaarah) to prominent historical and religious sites in and around the holy city of Madinah today.
The pilgrims, guided by key officials of the Edo State delegation, embarked on a journey of reflection and connection to early Islamic history. Leading the visitations was the Chairman of the Edo State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Mallam Musah Muhammad Uduimoh. He was accompanied by the Executive Secretary of the board and the esteemed Amir Hajj, HRH, Mallam Ali D. Suleyman, the Oghieaga of Ibvie. Their presence underscored the importance placed on these spiritual journeys for the Edo pilgrims.
Among the significant sites visited was the revered Quba Mosque. As the first mosque built in Islam, the Quba Mosque holds immense historical and religious significance for Muslims worldwide. The Edo pilgrims had the opportunity to offer prayers and immerse themselves in the serene atmosphere of this sacred place. Visiting the Quba Mosque is often a deeply moving experience for pilgrims, allowing them to connect with the early days of the Islamic faith.
Another important site on the itinerary was Mount Uhud. This mountain stands as a powerful reminder of the Battle of Uhud, a significant event in Islamic history. Pilgrims often visit the site to reflect on the sacrifices made by the early Muslims and to gain a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by the nascent Muslim community. The presence of Mount Uhud evokes a sense of historical awareness and strengthens the pilgrims' connection to their faith's past.
They also visited the Ajwa Farm known for producing the world-renowned Ajwa dates. This unique farm offers visitors a delightful opportunity to immerse themselves in the agricultural heritage of Saudi Arabia.
The visitations provided the Edo pilgrims with an invaluable opportunity to deepen their spiritual understanding and enrich their Hajj experience. By visiting these significant landmarks, the pilgrims were able to connect with the history and heritage of Islam in a tangible way, further enhancing the profound impact of their pilgrimage.
In a WhatsApp voice note, chairman Uduimoh revealed that during the visitations, the Amir Hajj, HRH, Mallam Ali D.
