The Edo State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has called for a final screening exercise for Intending pilgrims for the 2025 Hajj exercise.

This was contained in a statement issued by the board recently which was signed by the executive secretary, Alhaji Eranga Abdulkabir Muhammadkabir, calling on intending pilgrims from Edo State who have registered for the 2025 Hajj exercise to attend the final screening scheduled for the first weekend in May, 2025.

The crucial exercise, which will take place across two locations to accommodate pilgrims from different senatorial districts will be the final exercise prior to departure to Saudi Arabia and it is a must attend according to the statement.

"Attendance at this screening is compulsory for all intending pilgrims. Failure to attend will result in the automatic cancelation of your Hajj registration" The statement noted.

Pilgrims from Edo South and Edo Central are expected to attend the screening on Saturday, May 3rd, 2025, at 9:00 am at the Edo State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board in Benin City.

Meanwhile, intending pilgrims from Edo North will have their screening on Sunday, May 4th, 2025, starting at 9:00 am at the Arafat Mosque in Auchi, Edo State.

The final screening exercise encompasses several essential activities to ensure pilgrims are fully prepared for their journey to the Holy Land. These activities include: issuance of the mandatory yellow card/vaccination, collection of designated Hajj bags and distribution of Hajj clothing.

In a related development, the Chairman of the Edo State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Mallam Musah Muhammad Uduimoh, has emphasized the compulsory nature of this final screening. 

He noted that all registered pilgrims are therefore strongly advised to take note of the date, time, and venue applicable to their senatorial district and ensure their presence to avoid any disappointment.

The Board urges all concerned to treat this announcement with utmost importance to ensure a smooth and successful Hajj journey in 2025.
