In a narration by Sahl Ibn Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him), he said: I used to take sahur (the pre-dawn meal taken in preparatory to fasting) with my family and then hurry up in order to pray (the Subh prayers) with Allah's Messenger (SAW).
This Hadith also indicates that Sahur should be taken just before dawn.
