It was narrated by Abdullah Ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, that he heard Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) saying:" Islam is built on five pillars: Bearing witness there is no one worthy of worship except Allah and Muhammad (may peace be upon him) is the Messenger, establishing the prayers, giving out Zakat, performing the pilgrimage and observing the fast of Ramadan. (Sahil Bukhari Hadith number 8).
This Hadith also shows that Ramadan fast is obligatory on us.
Yaa Allah, grant us everlasting blessings of Ramadan.
