The Growing Muslims Above Poverty Multi-Purpose Cooperative Society (G-MAPO MPCS) recently held its 2024 Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the Ibadur Rahman Central Mosque, Benin City. The event, themed "The Concept of Cooperative Investment and Redistribution of Income for Growth of Members and the System," featured an inaugural lecture by a distinguished accountant and saw significant decisions made by the membership.

A key highlight of the AGM was the inaugural lecture, which provided valuable insights into the practical aspects of cooperative systems, including management roles, member responsibilities, income generation, and wealth redistribution.

The event brought together leaders, cooperators, investors, and members, fostering a collaborative environment for decision-making and strategic planning.

G-MAPO MPCS, under the leadership of Mallam Muhammad Ibrahim and Sheikh M. Muzzammil, received commendation for its trustworthiness, loyalty, and reliability to members and the host communities. The leadership was particularly praised for disbursing over ₦3 million in dividends between 2021 and 2022, demonstrating a commitment to improving the lives of Muslim entrepreneurs in Edo State and beyond.

During the AGM, members voted to reinvest the 2024 capital gain to generate even greater dividends in the coming year. Furthermore, they pledged their full support to the management in addressing challenges, such as debt recovery from defaulters and active participation in the cooperative's operational management.

The AGM also saw the reappointment of Abdul Haq Danjuma Musa as the new secretary of the cooperative.
