New ESIPO Managing Director Tours One-Stop Investment Centre, pledges to Sustain Efforts

The newly appointed Managing Director of the Edo State Investment Promotion Office (ESIPO), Ease of Doing Business Secretariat, Mr. Odigie Amen, has commenced his tenure with a visit to the Edo State One-Stop Investment Centre (ES-OSIC). 

The newly appointed Managing Director of the Edo State Investment Promotion Office (ESIPO), Ease of Doing Business Secretariat, Mr. Odigie Amen with liaison officers of the Edo State One-Stop-Investment Centre (ES-OSIC) and staff of ESIPO during his  visit to the Edo State One-Stop Investment Centre (ES-OSIC) in Benin City recently.

The aim of this visit was to personally assess the operations and initiatives of the center, which is dedicated to streamlining business processes and improving the ease of doing business in the state.

During his tour of the center on Thursday December 12, 2024, Mr. Odigie was impressed with the initiative. He visited several units within the center, including: Property and Land Related Services Unit, which provides comprehensive support for property acquisition, land use permits, and related legal services; 
Business Training and Financial Support Services Unit, which focuses on monitoring business activities, resolving disputes, and providing training and financial support to businesses.

Other units are: Taxes and Payments Support Unit, which assists businesses with tax compliance, payment processing, and tax-related queries;
Environmental, Mining and Energy Related Services Unit, which provides information and support on environmental impact assessments, mining permits, and energy-related licenses. And Business Formalization and Licensing Support which helps businesses with registration, licensing, and other legal formalities.

Following the tour, Mr. Odigie expressed his satisfaction with the progress made by ESIPO in establishing the ES-OSIC and reiterated his commitment to work collaboratively with the different MDAs and private organisations in streamlining investment processes in Edo State.

He emphasized the importance of collaboration between government agencies to create a favourable business environment.

This initiative is expected to further enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of ESIPO as well as to support the growth of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the state.
