BREAKING NEWS: Gov Okpebholo Appoints Gani Audu as Chief of Staff

Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has named Hon. Gani Audu as his Chief of Staff, a move aimed at enhancing the state’s reform agenda.

The appointment, which takes immediate effect, was announced in an official statement singed by Fred Itua, Chief Press Secretary to the State Governor.

The statement emphasized that Hon. Audu’s appointment is part of Governor Okpebholo’s strategy to bring experienced leadership to his administration. "It is hereby announced for the information of the general public, particularly the good people of Edo State, that His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo, Governor of Edo State, has approved the appointment of Hon. Gani Audu as his Chief of Staff. The appointment takes immediate effect,” the announcement read.

Born on 18 August 1969, Hon. Audu has a robust academic background. He earned an HND from Auchi Polytechnic in 1994, a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration from Benson Idahosa University in 2011, and an M.Sc in Intelligence and Global Security from Baze University, Abuja, in 2024.

Hon. Audu’s political career spans nearly two decades, beginning as Chairman of Etsako West Local Government Council from 2004 to 2010. He later served as a member of the Edo State House of Assembly, representing Etsako West Constituency 1, from 2015 to 2023. In 2020, he was the deputy governorship candidate for the All Progressives Congress in the Edo State Governorship elections.

This appointment reflects Governor Okpebholo’s commitment to leveraging experienced political figures to achieve his administration's vision for Edo State.
